- When does the contest begin and end?
- The contest begins March 21, 2007 at midnight Eastern Time and ends July 1, 2007 at midnight Eastern Time. All entries, digital or mailed, must be received by July 1, 2007.
- What is an entry?
- An entry consists of one digital photograph or digitized transparency submitted digitally at 72 DPI with approximately 8 x 10 inches. Print submissions through the mail. An entry form must accompany all entries.
- Is there a limit to the number of photos that I can enter?
- Yes, each entrant, regardless of method of entry, may submit only one photograph.
- Will there be a prizewinner in each category?
- No, the categories are for gallery viewing purposes. There will be three overall winners, first prize, second prize and third prize.
- What are my chances of winning?
- That depends upon the number of entries to the competition.
- Do I need a model release form?
- You do not need to submit a model release form along with your photograph. However, should the Sponsor choose to publish your photograph, upon their request you will need to submit a model release form if your photograph contains a recognizable person. - Will my photos be returned?
- No. Due to the high volume of submissions, it is not possible for us to return entries.
- When will the winners be announced?
- We will contact all winners by July 17, 2007. The winning photographs will be posted in the gallery by August 1, 2007. The winners' photographs may be published in National Geographic Traveler magazine, National Geographic magazine and may be used in National Geographic's or InterContinental Hotel & Resorts' promotional materials. - Who is judging the contest?
- Photographers from National Geographic, independent photo editors and representatives from InterContinental Hotels & Resorts.
